Evan is going to have a Baby Brother

It's a boy!!!

Today's Ultrasound

We went today for our ultrasound and everything looks great! Our little guy was not shy in letting us know his gender. It was great to get to see him, but can't wait to really meet him this spring.

19 months along

I am feeling really good, tired once I get home, but that is to be expected. I have finally started to feel movement which always makes it more exciting!

Evan with his future brother

Evan is very excited! He often touches my belly and tells me the baby is getting bigger. He is going to be such a great big brother and helper!

We will continue to keep you posted. Love to everyone!!!

Back to School

Summer has officially ended for Evan and I. We are back to school at Chesterbrook Academy ( just channged names from North Raleigh Country Day School). The exciting thing is Evan is now at my school with me in the 3 year old class. His teacher is Ms. Outlaw. So far he has adjusted great and seems to really enjoy it! My school has gone to uniforms this year and he looks so cute!

Evans First Day of preschool (3 year old class)

Of course Ducky has to come too!

I am teaching Kindergarten again this year. My class is one of two Kindergaten classes. This year I have 15 students, which is very exciting, because it shows my school is growing. I had 10 last year. So far the year has started out with a success. Although I will miss hanging with my little buddy this summer I am looking forward to another great school year!

Daytona Beach

For our big family summer vacation this year we went to Daytona Beach, Florida for a family reunion. We usually go every other year, but have not been since Evan was born, so this was the first time he has met many of his aunts, uncles, and cousins on my side. We enjoyed days in the pool, in the ocean, and in the sand. The nights were spent playing shuffle board, more time in the pool, some poker playing, and grilling out in the rain (operation save the beer chicken). It was so great to catch up with family and watch all the young cousins play together. Evan was having a ball playing with his older boy cousins, ages ranging from 3-9. We had so much fun in the Florida sun! Below are some pictures from our trip.

We had a wonderful time! Looking forward to going back in 2011.

My Little Boy is Growing Up

Since I have just started this blog, I thought I would start by summing up the things that have been going on with us.

Tim is still working as a Financial Officer at the credit union. He is enjoying it and pretty content with his position right now. But he is always keeping his eye open for the next step.

As for me I started a new job this past year, best descion I have ever made career wise. I switched from Wake County Schools to a private school, Chesterbrook Academy. I am now teaching Kindergarten and love it! It brought my excitement back for teaching and I love the small school/classroom feel. It helped me feel happier in my everyday life because I was no longer stressing about work all the time. I am looking forward to another great year in Kindergarten come August.

As for Evan he has had the most changes over the past year. He gave up the passie, has switched to a big boy bed, and is wearing big boy underwear. He pretty much has the potty thing figured out. One of the most exciting changes (at least for me)is he is now going to mommy's school. My school has preschool starting at age 2 1/2 and Elementary. So far he seems to really enjoy it and is doing a great job. He is just going part time for the summer. This is going to make next school year so much easier and more exciting!

In April Tim and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We are loving being parents and watching Evan grow and change. He is so full of personality, always making us laugh.

So that is the basics of what has been going on with the Johnson family. We are just hanging out enjoying life these days. I will blog about more details as I get the chance.

Summertime

Summertime comes and goes so fast! Evan is at such a fun and active age so we have stayed very busy this summer. Some of the things we have done have been a baseball game, played at Monkey Joes, hung out at the beach, visited the aquarium, got a new mini pool for the back yard and a new swing set (thanks to Aunt Piggy and Uncle Hogg). He is very proud of his new swing set, inviting all the neighbors over to play. I posted pictures below of some of our summer fun.

We have spent a lot of the summer hanging out at the beach. Evan really enjoys the beach this year. He loves to play in the sand and even let his daddy bury him in it. He is starting to really enjoy the water too. He liked going in the ocean as long as mommy was holding him tight. I think his favorite part about going into the ocean was he got to lick the salt water off his hands ( I know it sounds weird, but it was too funny). When we would get out he would run back to the water and get his hands wet so he could do it again.

As far as the pool goes he is becoming quite a fish in the water. At first he would hang on mommy and daddy with all his might, but now that he has his own water wings he barely lets us touch him while in the pool. He loves kicking around in the water on his own.

The next big summer plans are going to Daytona Beach for our annual family reunion. This will be the first time we have been in three years so Evan will get to meet some of his aunts, uncles, and cousins for the first time. I will try to blog more about the summer after our big trip.

At the aqarium for our mom and kids beach weekend. We had 5 moms and 6 kids in one house. It was definitly crazy, but a good bonding time for the kids and moms.

He just learned how to swing on his own and was so proud

I hope everyone is having as much fun as we are this summer.

Here goes nothing...

Well here I go starting a blog page.

I have always been behind the times and a little scared of technology, but have decided it is time to learn about it all and jump in head first. I don't feel scared of it anymore for some reason. This year I have been really proud of myself; I have bought a laptop, learned how to work and rely on an ipod touch, figure out i tunes, figure out facebook, join twitter, keep up a website for school, blog with someone from Costa Rico for a school project, make a school slide show (which I was extremely proud of), and now start my own blog. What a year for me!

Life stays so busy these days as I jump into my career (which I am finally so excited about) and learn more about motherhood and developing my family. I am hoping this will be a great way to keep my family and freinds up to date with the things going on in our lives. Bear with me as I figure this all out and find some extra time to blog.
Love to everyone!
